Starting P90X AGAIN!

Ok, so as you can see I lasted 31 days the last time I tried P90X back in 2010.  4 years later now and I'm going to give it another shot.  Since 2010, my wife and I have had 2 more babies, so now we have 3.  A sweet little guy that is 4, a little princess that is 2, and a little cute bald guy that is 7 months.  As we've added to our family, it's tough to get extra time to workout, stay fit, etc.  That's how I was at 220 this morning.  Today marks the start of a journey - one that I have needed for a while now.  Here we go!

Update

Some of you may be wondering where I've been lately.  After completing 1/3 of this program I was hammered by a sinus infection that decided to stick around for about a month.  It took 3 rounds of antibiotics and some steroids to wipe that thing out.  Unfortunately, this set back not only effected my exercise, but also my nutrition.

Amy and I have both started seeing a chiropractor this past week, something I've always been unsure of, but it is going great.  We both have some issues that we are getting worked on and in 6 months we should be in alot better shape!

For me, I am excited about the possibility of getting off some medications that I have been on for over 10 years - some for allergies, and one for anxiety.  By spending time with the chiropractor, our central nervous system will get back into shape which will in turn allow our bodies to function optimally.  He has also recommended a 21 day purification program which I am looking to do to rid my body of built up toxins.  For the first time in a long time, I have hope - hope to get over some things that have held me back for a long time.  We will both be going in 2x a week for 12 weeks and then 1x a week for 12 weeks.  As for P90x, I will see his advice as to do this while on the cleanse.

Day 31 - Back and Biceps

Yesterday was Amy's birthday!  We had a great time celebrating her birthday....Drew made his mama a sweet card with pictures and crayons.  Back and biceps was the workout for the day - the first time I've done that one.  It was a nice focused workout....I can see that I'm getting back on track.  Here's the menu for the day:

Day 30 - Plyometrics

Day 29 - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps / Ab Ripper X

Monday started week 5 of P90X.  Last week was a low intensity week....a transition from part 1 of the program to part 2.  I'm excited about getting back in the groove and hitting it hard.  My goal during this next part of the program is to complete all of the workouts, eat healthy without cheating and maybe adding some more cardio beyond the program.  I'd like to be down around 185 by Day 60 which would be down 7 more pounds in 5 weeks - very doable.

My menu for the day was:

Breakfast: Pure Protein Oatmeal Square - 200 cal, 10 g protein
Snack/Lunch: Pure Protein Revolution Bar - 280 cal, 32g protein
Snack: Pistachios
Dinner: Fajitas

Total Calories: 1,810
Calories burned from P90X: 600

Days 19-28

I haven't stopped this program, I promise.  I've been battling a sinus infection and some poison oak for the past few days.  Luckily, this week is a low intensity rest week, so in that respect it is good timing.

I'm at 192 lbs....down 7 in 28 days, which I'm proud of.

I'm excited to start back up this afternoon!

Day 17 & 18- Shoulders and Arms / Ab Ripper X / Cardio X

On Wednesday, we decided to take Drew to his first baseball game!  It was so much fun and he had a blast taking in all of the sights and sounds of America's pastime.  He really liked eating the popcorn, peanuts, dippin dots ice cream, and his very own hot dog!  He is a little hoover.  Papa bought him a Rangers shirt and we got him a Rangers hat....he looks so cute in it.  Texas beat Detroit 11-7.  Because we went to the game, I had to bump this workout to yesterday along with Cardio X.  I hung in there and made it through both!

As a progress update, I've lost the following:

7 pounds
3/4" off my neck
1" off my waist
2" of my belly
2" off my chest

Breakfast: Pure Protein Bar - 20g protein, 200 cal
Lunch: Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle Soup 200 cal, pistachios
Dinner: Chicken Pie, Cresent Roll, Mashed Potatoes

Total Calories: 1,540
Calories burned from P90X: 1,200
Net: 340
